Daniel Baker studierte Soziologie, Gender Studies und Ethnologie am Royal College of London ist zudem auch als Kurator tätig. Er beteiligte sich an verschiedenen internationalen Gruppen- und Einzelausstellungen und nahm bereits zwei Mal an der Biennale in Venedig teil: Er war beim ersten Romapavillion PARADISE LOST 2007 und auch beim zweiten 2011 - CALL THE WITNESS - vertreten. Bakers Kunst changiert zwischen Kunst und dem gesprochenen Wort und verweist auf die sozialen Befindlichkeiten gegenüber den Sinti und Roma. Gleichzeitig spiegelt sich in seiner Kunst die eigene Identiät, die sich über die Sinne und die Sprache vermittelt. Seine Kunst wird zum Politikum, welches die „Gypsy aesthetics“ verhandelt.
